EUTAXGOV Online Events Privacy Notice

The project occasionally organizes online events such as workshops or seminars. This document details how personal data of event participants will be processed by the project.

Which personal data are collected when registering for an event?
When you register for an online event, the following personal data will be recorded:
– First name and last name
– E-mail address
– Institutional affiliation

Video recording and photographs (screenshots)

Please note that some events may be audio- and videotaped, and screenshots may be taken during the course of the event. By attending you grant permission for your likeness and the content of your comments, if any, to be broadcast, webcast, published, or otherwise reported or recorded. You will be informed on whether the event is recorded when registering and once again at the beginning of the event.

The event recording will be uploaded on YouTube or a similar platform and shared via the project’s website, as well as via websites of event co-organizers (if applicable). Screenshots taken during the event may be shared on the project’s website and via social media sites such as, for example, Twitter or LinkedIn. If you intervene during an event, your intervention will be part of the recording. If your camera is switched on, your video may be part of the recording and/or the screenshots. If your camera is switched off, your name may appear in the recording and/or screenshot.

Updates on future events
If you grant your permission for that purpose at the moment of signing registering for the event, your contact details will be kept in the research project’s internal database and you will occasionally receive news about upcoming events and call for papers co-organized by the research project. You can withdraw your permission by sending an email to i.j.mosquera.valderrama@law.leidenuniv.nl and your data will be deleted from the database. You will then no longer receive any information.

How long will your data be used and stored?
If you have given permission for receiving updates, we will store your personal details until the end of the EUTAXGOV Project (3 months after the end of the project). During this period, you will receive information about upcoming events. In case you do not grant permission, your information will be deleted within one month after the event has taken place.

Withdrawal of consent
Should you change your mind and would like to have your personal data removed, you can contact  Irma Johanna Mosquera Valderrama via i.j.mosquera.valderrama@law.leidenuniv.nl and we will remove your data from published material wherever possible. If you think that your personal data has been used in way that violates this agreement, you can contact the data protection officer of Leiden University via privacy@bb.leidenuniv.nl
